We have a new favorite in our house lately.  Root beer has always been a favorite for the girls in my house but lately we've been making it homemade and it is delicious!  Enjoy this super easy recipe and watch your children's eyes light up.

You Will Need:
  • 1.5 cups water
  • .75 cup sugar
  • 1.5 tsp Root Beer Concentrate
  • 1 Bottle (1 liter) club soda
I found the root beer concentrate next to the vanilla extract in Walmart and the club soda was not in the soda section, it was located on the coffee/beer/wine aisle.  You'll have bounds of fun for a very tiny price!

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Bring water to boil in a medium sized sauce pan.
  2. Stir in the sugar until it is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add concentrate and stir until well mixed.
  5. Refrigerate root beer mixture until you are ready to serve your sodas.  (refrigerate until cooled)
SERVE:
  • Put root beer mixture in a container large enough to pour 1 liter of club soda into.
  • Slowly pour refrigerated club soda into root beer mixture.  Stir very lightly to make sure mixed well.
  • If you used chilled club soda and the root beer mixture was fully cooled then you shouldn't need ice but either way is fine.  Enjoy!
TIP:
To use in a root beer float, put two scoops of vanilla ice cream in a tall glass and slowly pour root beer over the ice cream.  Enjoy!!
