We placed this on the wall in our bedroom after we were married.  It is a daily reminder of the  vows we took for one another.  The wreath is white which symbolizes purity.  The shape of the wreath symbolizes unending love and commitment.  The thorny branches symbolize the trials that come with life but the white vine that binds them all together symbolizes God in our lives.  Though troubles will come, God is in control and He makes all things work together for our good.  The plaque in the middle is a reminder that Godly love is all we need to keep our vows and grow.  Putting one another before ourselves is God's way and that is what makes a marriage last, it is the fertile soul in which love grows.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.”
1 John 3:18
"Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."
Philippians 2:2
"Complete my (Jesus') joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind."
"Love isn't enough.  Love doesn't pay the light bills and love doesn't put food on the table or clothes on our backs."  I wait for an okay from the Lord to speak, if it doesn't come I don't.  I have heard this so much lately that I am drawn to share this with you about what real true love really does.  The world looks at love as a feeling expressed between two people.  But God has expressed love to us as a devotion which is worked out between two people.  There is worldly love, which is selfish and self-seeking and conditional.  Then there is Godly love which is holy, undefiled, sacrificial and unconditional.  See, all we need to make relationships work is Godly love.  No matter what I do, if I do not have love I have done nothing.  If Gods people could learn to express the same love we have received from God then there is nothing that cannot be done so long as it is seasoned with love.  If I love my children then I can discipline them in love and they will receive my discipline and still know they are loved.  If all I can afford to give my loved one, on a special occasion, is my love then that is a greater gift than anything money can buy.  Love is not just a feeling, it is devotion in motion!  God is love.  See, love IS all you need, but it must be a Godly love.  This kind of love pays the light-bill, puts food on the table and clothes on our backs because this kind of love seeks for the well-being of others before self.  If there is one thing I can say about our home, it is filled with love, Godly love.  Praise to God alone this home is rich with the one ingredient that makes all the difference.  Love wakes up early, works hard, comes home on time and spends itself on the rest of the family every day.  And love does those things with intent and joy and doesn't grow weary in well doing.  Love cleans and fixes and works at delighting the rest of the family every day.  Love is obedient and loves works together with others.  Love seeks a smile and joyfulness on the faces of those around it and not just for itself.  Love lives here.  God is love and love is all we need.  Because WE love sacrificially, WE will never lack.  We may not live in a mansion and drive multiple cars and wear the best name brand clothes all the time, but where there is real Godly love, there is no need for those things because every real need is met.  We are warm and dry and comfortable and well fed.  We are happy.  We play together, we cry together, we pray together, we work together and we reap together.  See, love IS all you need, but the love of this world will never be enough.  The love that comes from God is enough.  God is all you need and God is that living breathing expression of love that will take over your life and your home and meet every need.  A little bread to eat with great love will always fill me, but give me all the wealth of this world with no love at all, and I am nothing but broken.  I pray that you will find this love, which can only be found in God, and make it a staple in your life and home so that you and those around you will know the reality of God's intended blessings for you.
