Outreach Christian Ministry

by Julie Branstetter, Th.B. Welcome to my ministry blog. I graduated seminary at Nashville Theological Seminary in 2008, where I received my Bachelor of Theology. My outreach ministry beyond my local church is Kingdom Covenant Ministries. KCM was chartered in 2008 through the National Association of Christian Ministers. My husband and I are currently participating in the Church of God Callings and Ministries Studies Program. My husband and I have ministered worship, preached and taught the gospel in churches and other places. My family worships with a beautiful congregation at Farmington Heights Church in Wilson, NC. We help with worship and small groups there. KCM is a Christ focused, teaching and evangelizing ministry. We receive donations regularly to help national and international missions. Various brothers and sisters in ministry in other countries have already received support including Kenya, India, Pakistan, Canada, Israel and also various places within the United States.

In The House

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, In : Ministry

Gracious did I have a dream last night....   Let me try to share it.

It is March 17th, the day we celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day.  Saint Patrick was the Apostle to Ireland, where he had been taken as a young boy to be a slave.  When he became a cleric he went back to Ireland as a missionary.  Ironically the verses that accompany the message in my dream each have the number 17 in them.  So perhaps this is a timely message.

I believe God wants revival in the church even more than...

Humilation

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Monday, March 2, 2015, In : Ministry
In prayer I asked God why He lets me be humiliated in front of people so much.  (Sorry, but sometimes I feel like the biggest mess up in the room because I am) and I told Him I would follow Him and do whatever He asked of me but please please don't let me keep being humiliated... His response..."My greatest ministry for my children required my complete humiliation. Can you imagine having all the power in the world to end it but having to endure it anyway for your sake? Don't think it will be ...

Get Back On The Table

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, In : Ministry
This is a skit that I wrote to help illustrate what it has been like for me to allow God to prepare me for ministry.  Hopefully this will encourage others that God will always take you back on the table.  Because He's good.

Narrator:  All too often when God is working on us we leap off of the table the minute He begins to dress our wounds.  We pray for God to heal us and then as soon as it starts to hurt we run from Him and then ask Him why He’s not healing us.  Christian brother and sis...

Desire to Prophesy

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Thursday, September 4, 2014, In : Ministry

I have always known that my husband had a pastoral heart.  I told him before he could believe it but he is believing it now.  God shows us things a little at a time.  A friend of ours is having surgery tomorrow.  I mentioned it to him before our Christmas program at church last week and before the holidays and told him I thought we should go by and pray with them before the surgery.  You know as well as I do how the holidays and all it's chaos can eat up time and even cause you to forg...

Where Is Your God?

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Thursday, September 4, 2014, In : Ministry

WHERE IS YOUR GOD?

"And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word." ~ 1 Kings 18:21

We still have prophets today, the problem is that even professing Christians have joined the ranks of persecuting them.  They've been called bible beaters and modern day pharisees, and these do sometimes exist, but not nearly on the level at which accusatio...

The Devourer's Game

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Thursday, September 4, 2014, In : Ministry

The sins we struggle with today are really no different than the sins Israel struggled with so often in Scripture.  The biggest of them all is idolatry.  Do we seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first or second or last?  The crazy thing is that these idols are traps designed to destroy us.  We think they bring us pleasure, but they are destroying us.  When we choose to be online for hours but can't find time to read scripture for 10 minutes, we've allowed an idol to set up i...

Baby Talk

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry

Psalms 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God..."

Do you know the sound of His sweet small voice?  See God speaks in different ways but one of the ways He speaks to His children is similar to the way we talk to babies.  In fact science has found that people have the tendency to speak in a “sing-songy” voice with babies because we understand instinctively that babies respond more positively and happily to the higher pitched soft sounds of "baby talk".  No matter how old we become ...

Strivings Over the Law

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry
Ever meet a person whose response to being discipled always ends up with "strivings" "about the law"? It is difficult to help a person who has no DESIRE for obedience (Phil 2:13) to Christ's law to understand the difference between The Mosaic Law and the Law of Christ. (Gal 6:2 & 1 Cor 9:21) Many of the times that Paul refers to "the law" in scripture he is referring specifically to the Law of Moses, not to just any arbitrary act of obedience. It is important to read and teach scripture...

Relevant

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry
I am convinced that it is not the Word of God who need to become relevant in this world, but this world is in great need of becoming relevant to God. God was before all things existed. What has been created is under the requirement of becoming relevant to what has created it. When Jesus says, "Depart from Me, I know you not, ye who practice lawlessness.." It isn't because He wasn't relevant to us. He has done His part in full. It's because we did not draw near to Him, live a life of sa...

Once Saved Always Saved

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry

Something to know and understand when looking to learn whether "once saved always saved" is legitimate Christian theology is to remember a few distinctions from the Bible about salvation.  1.  That terminology is never stated in scripture so you won't find, "once saved always saved" in scripture.  You know this but just for the sake of beginning at the beginning, let it be said.  2.  So to determine if it is legitimate theology you have to ask , "What does it teach/imply?"  What does i...

When God Repented

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry
There were several verses that jumped out at me over the first 12 pages of the new reading schedule but one that brought me to tears was when God looked on people and regretted having created them because of their wickedness and sin. That just filled me with sadness. To imagine God, our creator, who loves without end looking upon sinful man and wishing he had never made us. Can you imagine just how bad it had to have really been for God to feel that way. And it paints a picture of God ...

Stop Trying to Grow Your Church

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry

Stop trying to grow YOUR church and start trying to grow THE church.  As a result, YOUR church will grow.  See, we have been made for the lost, they were not made for us.  Let me break this down for everyone who reads the title of this blog thinking that their church numbers must grow before the body can.  We have this mentality that IF we can get people to come to church THEN we can get them saved but this is not the plan that Christ gave us for furthering the growth of the body of C...

2 Most Important Things

Posted by Julie Branstetter on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, In : Ministry

There are many great tools for good ministry.  If you visit a Christian bookstore you'll find book after book written by pastors and evangelist equipping saints with tools for successful ministry, many of which are very good and worth the time to study.  But there are two resources, sometimes underestimated, which are of the utmost importance.  The first and most important is the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the second is your testimony.   If an endeavor before you is without God’s ...
